A snake who had slithered in a transformer caused a power cut in a Kentucky neighbourhood on Thursday. The Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative shared photos of the snake curled up on the electric equipment.
Brandenburg, Kentucky: A utility crew investigating a power outage in a Kentucky neighbourhood were surprised to find that a snake was the cause of power cut. A snake had slithered inside a transformer and caused the power cut.
The Meade County Rural Electric crew were called to check a power outage in Brandenburg on Thursday. The crew found out that a snake had come into contact with equipment.
The electric cooperative took to Facebook to share photos of the incident. “Rough way to start the day. Snake causes power outage in the Brandenburg area,” the Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative wrote.
The photos show the reptile curled up inside the transformer. The serpent seems to be cosy inside the unusual place.
While the unusual discovery terrified many netizens, others were quick to drop hilarious comments. Here are some of the reactions:
A user wrote, ” Looks like the snake was after what might have been in a bird’s nest. Yikes. That’s a big snake.” While another joked, “It’s safe to say he got the ‘electric chair'”.
A third user said, “Now he’s more of an electric eel lol.” Yet another added, “All those twigs must have been of a bird’s nest. Looks like a rat snake…”
The residents were left without electricity for about 24 hours.
