On Sunday, a King Cobra and Monitor Lizard engaged in a rare battle in a semi-evergreen woodland area of central Kerala.
50 kilometers away, in the Thundam range of the Malayattor division, forest officers on patrol caught on camera the vicious struggle between the two reptiles. On a route cutting through the woodland, two reptiles engaged in combat.The monitor lizard moved in the opposite way, towards the canal, as the snake slithered towards the woods. It should be noted that a King Cobra’s single bite has enough venom to kill 10 individuals who are fully grown.Even though the monitor lizard fought the snake with its powerful claws, jaws, tail, and limbs, the snake managed to escape unharmed. Rafi clarified that it is unknown which reptile launched the initial attack.Watch the video below:
