A miraculous yet ɴᴀᴜsᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ moment was recently captured in Thailand. A woman discovered a huge bloated python in her home and immediately ᴄᴀʟʟᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ʜᴇʟᴘ. Things escalated when it turned out the giant snake had actually sᴡᴀʟʟᴏᴡᴇᴅ a huge monitor lizard.
The concrete in the woman’s backyard was broken away piece by piece by officers Sawang Benchait and Samut Songkhram, revealing the sizable snake concealed beneath. They gradually chip away at the concrete sufficiently to be able to remove the python.
After having its meal disturbed, the snake becomes ᴀɢɢʀᴇssɪᴠᴇ and proves difficult to ᴄᴀᴛᴄʜ with the tools the rescuers have on hand. The officers grabbed the long snake by its tail and lifting it as its body bulges into the boot of one of their vehicles.
Finding itself in a tough spot, the snake began contorting and ᴡɪᴅᴇɴɪɴɢ ɪᴛs ᴊᴀᴡs in an effort to throw up its ᴘʀᴇʏ. Photo shows a black slime-covered monitor lizard sliding out of the ᴘʏᴛʜᴏɴ’s ᴊᴀᴡ. While the lizard was ᴜɴᴄᴏɴsᴄɪᴏᴜs at first, it slowly came back to ʟɪꜰᴇ and moved around the room.
The scene left volunteer Somjed Kasulong, 35, surprised too. “In all of my ten years of catching snakes I have never seen anything like this. I have never heard of anything sᴜʀᴠɪᴠɪɴɢ after a python has ᴇᴀᴛᴇɴ them because the snake will sᴜꜰꜰᴏᴄᴀᴛᴇ them first. It’s a miracle. The monitor lizard must be very, very strong,” he said.
“The lizard might also have played ᴅᴇᴀᴅ to save its energy and let the snake try to sᴡᴀʟʟᴏᴡ it. But it would never have been able to ᴇsᴄᴀᴘᴇ if the snake was not disturbed. It was the lizard’s lucky day,” he added.
The volunteers checked the monitor lizard and noted it had no ɪɴᴊᴜʀɪᴇs. The python was also fine.
