Images were taken by a fisherman passing by boat through the region; Look!
At the end of October, fisherman Vanderlei Cortez Kassaro, 54 years old, recorded on video several anacondas, at least 14, mating together in the Paraná River, in the northwest region of the state of Paraná. The images ended up going viral on social media.
I’m used to seeing several animals there, including anacondas, but this much, one on top of the other, I’ve never seen one. I was surprised at the time”, said the fisherman to G1, who at the time of filming was accompanied by his wife Vera Lúcia.

According to Instituto Água e Terra (IAT), the female was mating with several males. “There are several males ‘fighting’ to conquer the female, who is below them. Sometimes it can happen that she is alone at the end of the story”, says the agency to G1.

The IAT also points out that during the species’ copulation period, there is no maximum number of partners that an anaconda usually has. What’s more, the mating process occurs every two to three years and can last for days.
