Astronauts might not have been first to get to the moon, if these images are to be believed.
A UFO hunter claims he has found a passageway hidden beneath the lunar surface which could be the stairway to extraterrestrial life.
The strange picture reveals a rectangular shape on the moon, prompting alien enthusiasts to speculate it could be the entrance to a secret tunnel.
The photo of the strange structure was brought to light by Tyler Glockner, who runs the UFO hunting SecureTeam 10 YouTube channel.
The image was captured by the Apollo 15 space craft on its sole expedition to the moon between July and August 1971.
‘These features may be of artificial origin, meaning someone built and put them on the moon,’ said Mr Glockner, who is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
‘These things look like buildings, they look like installations and they were originally discovered in an Apollo image which you can actually find online.
We are looking at the original photograph and you almost immediately will be able to detect these things from shadows and shapes,’ he said.
Mr Glockner, an avid believer in extraterrestrial life, added this shape was not like anything seen before on the moon.
‘They do not blend in with the regular surface features and this image is the closest we can get,’ he said.
Earlier this year Mr Glockner and his team claimed to have spotted a hidden alien ship in a cave in the South Pole.
Their ‘discovery’, made from what they claim are Google Earth satellite images, was described as ‘final proof of secret technology’ on Antarctica.
They zoomed in on a mountainous region of the South Pole and found what they believe to be a disc in a cave.
‘This is a bombshell discovery and one of the most obvious unnatural and anomalous structures we have found at the South Pole,’ SecureTeam 10 said.
This follows another disputed claim earlier this year that there is a giant staircase in Antarctica.
An image, alleged to be a satellite image of the Antarctic, sparked alien believers to claim it could prove aliens are visiting Earth.
The picture was posted on a UFO and conspiracy theory forum.
